Leslie Nielsen died at 84

Leslie Nielsen died at age 84. He died of complications from pneumonia on Sunday. Nielsen was in the hospital with pneumonia for 12 days. He was getting worse 48 hours before his death.  He was surrounded by friends and family.

He was a famous actor and comedian who entertained people for 60 years. He was able to go from serious actor to one of the most famous comedians. He appeared on various television shows and appeared in over 100 movies.His appearance in television included "Hawaii Five-O", "Columbo" and "Murder, She Wrote". His famous movies included "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun". He said himself he was not always a funny man.
Nielsen once said he was never the class clown. "In those days, I was too busy trying to be Mr. Perfect. You try to be Mr. Perfect so that your parents can find nothing wrong with you. They have a lot of other things to think about like putting food on the table, so you just don’t want to rock the boat."
Nielsen received a lifetime achievement award in 2003 from Alberta Motion Pictures Industries Association. He also was awarded an Award of Excellence from the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists.
